Police have revealed that they are not treating the fatal fire in Graham Way, Knightsridge, Livingston as suspicious and officers have alerted the family of the man in his 40s whom they believe died.

Detective Sergeant David MacMillan of Livingston CID said: “Our enquiries continue with colleagues in the fire service as we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding this.

“However, the fire is not currently being treated as suspicious.

“The family of the man believed to have passed away are being kept fully updated, and the community are thanked for their ongoing cooperation with emergency services.”

Senior officer David Lockhart added: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 3.58am on Saturday, November 18, to reports of a fire within a house in Livingston.

“Operations control mobilised four fire engines to Graham Way where firefighters were met with a well-developed fire.

“Crews extinguished the fire, but sadly a person was found to have passed away at the scene and our thoughts are with all of those who are affected at this time.

“A joint investigation with Police Scotland is ongoing to establish the circumstances.”
