Scot Courtney considers his tactics. Picture by Nigel Duncan Media

Berwick Bandits boss Scott Coutrney has ordered his men put their Championship Knockout Cup quarter-final defeat by Edinburgh Monarchs behind them.

And ambitious Courtney wants a repeat of the form shown late in last Saturday’s second leg when Bandits really got into the groove.

Courtney’s men travel to Workington Comets on Friday and the team manager said his men showed Edinburgh at Berwick who was the boss by winning Heats Eight to 14 by 27-15.

He desperately wants to see his septet get back on track for the Championship title starting at Workington.

Incidentally, the Borders club host Comets on Saturday, tapes up here at 7pm.

Two other pieces of speedway news. Glasgow’s Lewis Kerr has suffered a spiral fracture to his left tibia and has broken several bones in his right foot.

He is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines and Glasgow are considering their options for the rest of the season.

And Glasgow’s fixture at Lakeside on Saturday has been postponed to avoid clashing with England’s quarter-final tie with Sweden in the World Cup.

A new date will be announced as soon as possible.
