BIG-HEARTED YOUNGSTER COLLECTS SOCKS FOR EDINBURGH’S HOMELESS
SNP MSP Ben Macpherson welcomed Joseph Cox and his young brother to Holyrood today, where the youngster picked up MSP donations to his collection of socks and underwear for homeless people in Edinburgh.
Joseph is a pupil at Leith Primary School, and he caught the attention of people across the country with his ‘Socks for the Street’ project – aimed at helping rough sleepers to stay warm in winter.
SNP MSP for Edinburgh Northern and Leith, Ben Macpherson welcomed his constituent to The Scottish Parliament : “It was a pleasure to welcome Joseph to Parliament this afternoon and to support his inspiring campaign.
“Joseph’s big-hearted initiative has caught the attention of people across Scotland – and he demonstrates the best of how charitable young people can be.
“Helping homeless people stay warm is such a worthy cause, and I hope Joseph’s campaigning inspires others to get involved to help those less fortunate – we can all learn from this inspirational youngster.”
