Errington Cheese Ltd is voluntarily recalling a batch of Dunsyre Blue cheese because they have been notified by a wholesaler that Listeria monocytogenes has been detected in the product.  The company has already taken steps to withdraw the product from sale.

If you have bought the above product do not eat it.  Instead, return it to where it was bought for a full refund.
Risk:
Symptoms caused by Listeria monocytogenes can be similar to flu and includes high temperature, muscle ache or pains, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis. Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.
Action taken by the Company:
Errington Cheese Ltd is voluntarily recalling the affected product from its customers.  A point of sale notice will be sent to all businesses that sell the products, explaining to customers the reason for recall and the actions they can take if they have bought any of the affected product.
