Berwick Bandits travel to the Peterborough Panthers tonight looking for their first win over the English side for over 18 years.

They have drafted in British champion, Danny King, as a stand-in for No 1 Nick Morris who is riding for Swindon Robins in the Premiership.

Peterborough are minus Jack Holder as rides in the World Under-21 Championship. Lasse Bjerre deputises and reserve Bradley Wilson-Dean is also out as he rides for Swindon. Workington Comets racer Mason Campton guests.

Dennis McCleary, Bandits’ co-promoter, said: “We want to end this 18 year-old hoodoo.”

At Armadale, Edinburgh Monarchs have reshuffled their side because of the new averages and they hope the new running order provides a better balance for the side.

In-form Mark Riss moves to No 2 while Aussie newcomer Josh Pickering is the new No 4. Bosses hope that taking away the pressure of riding in Heat 1 will allow Pickering to ease into the meeting. Max Clegg replaces Riss at reserve.

Newcastle have the best travelling record of any team in the Armadale era but Robert Lambert misses the meeting as he is racing for Great Britain under 21’s.

Glasgow Tigers captain Aaron Summers, a former Monarchs racer, steps in, and he is backed up by ex-Monarch Steve Worrall, Ludvig Lindgren who raced to two maximum scores while deputising for the Monarchs last season, and Lewis Rose who is carving a big reputation in the sport.

This is a quartet which Monarchs co-promoter, John Campbell, believes will push his men who drew 45-45 at Newcastle on Sunday.
