Police are appealing for witnesses after a series of thefts in Penicuik yesterday.

A Honda motorcycle was stolen from outside a property in Eskvale Crescent between the hours of 7 pm and midnight.

Around 8pm a house in Harlaw Grove was entered and various items were stolen including a set of car keys, a Volkswagen Polo was subsequently stolen from the garage.

A garage in Greenhill Park was broken into between 6pm and 9.30pm and various tools, metal detectors and a bicycle helmet were stolen.

Officers are now keen to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in these areas on Sunday.

Sergeant Michele Lindsay, of Penicuik Police Station, said: “Given the nature of the offences and the proximity of where they occurred, we’re keeping an open mind to the possibility that they’re linked.

“As such I would be very keen to hear from anyone who noticed any suspicious behaviour near Eskdale Crescent, Harlaw Grove or Greenhill Park on Sunday 10th April.

“Similarly anyone who has information relevant to our inquiries or who has been offered goods that they believe to be stolen, contact police as soon as possible.”
