A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a serious assault near Whistlebinkies Public House in South Bridge.
The incident took place on Friday 8 April.
Officers would like to thank the public for their assistance with the investigation.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday 13 April.
