Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses after a 29-year-old man was assaulted and robbed on Great Junction Street, near to the junction with Bangor Road.
The incident happened at around 1.30am on Sunday 8 November when the man believes he was knocked unconscious and awoke to find a man searching his pockets.
The victim discovered some of his personal items were missing and pursued the suspect who made off towards North Junction Street, possibly turning right into Coburg Street.
The suspect is described as a white man in his twenties, with short blonde hair. He was wearing a black parka style waist length jacket.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time or who has information that can assist with the ongoing enquiry to get in touch.
Detective Constable John Dunn of Gayfield said: “This was an unprovoked assault on a man making his way home, and we are keen to speak to anyone who has information that can assist us in tracing the individual responsible.”
