A 53-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with two assaults, which occurred on the A720.

The incident happened yesterday  at around 12.45pm on the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass, at the exit for Hermiston Gait.

The man and woman have also been charged in connection with road traffic offences.  They will both appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, September 7.

Officers are still investigating this incident and would ask anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward.

Police Sergeant Andrew Gibb said:  “While we have now arrested and charged a man and woman in connection with this incident, we are still appealing for witnesses.

“This incident occurred when the roadway was busy with other motorists and we are asking anyone who saw this incident occur to contact us immediately.”
