Rudi Molotnikov has committed his future to Hibs after signing a new four-year deal which runs until the summer of 2029.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder’ new deal highlights the club’s long-term vision and ongoing commitment to providing a pathway and opportunities for our homegrown youth players.

The youngster joined Hibs at the age of 10 after spending time at Loanhead Miners, and has gone from strength-to-strength ever since progressing through the Academy.

He made his senior debut under David Gray in the UEFA Europa Conference League against Aston Villa at Villa Park in August 2023, and has since become a part of the First Team squad.

So far this season he has made 15 First Team appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

On the international front, he’s a regular for Scotland’s U19s and more recently captained them to victory over Liechtenstein.

On the new deal, Hibernian FC Head Coach David Gray said: “I’m delighted that we’ve managed to agree a new long-term contract with Rudi.

“During my time at the Club, I have watched his development closely and I’ve been impressed with his desire to keep learning and working hard every day.

“He wants to push himself all the time and he needs to keep doing that. He has a bright future at Hibs, and we want to help him to reach his full potential.”

Hibs Sporting Director Malky Mackay added: “Rudi is an exciting young player and is an excellent example of the types of players we’re producing in our Academy set-up.

“We want to be a club that gives talented youngsters a chance and one that produces Academy players for the First Team. We are constantly planning for the future and our first thought is to look within ourselves and at who is coming through our Academy.

“Rudi thoroughly deserves this new deal, and I look forward to seeing how he progresses.”
