Hibs midfielder Nathan Moriah-Welsh scored his first goal for the club and was then named Player of the Match in the 4-0 victory over Peterhead at Easter Road on Saturday.

His strike plus a double from Goals Lewis Miller and one from Rudi Molotnikov ensured Hibs finished top of Group C in the Premier Sports Cup.

Nine points however was not enough to be seeded and Hibs were drawn against Celtic at Parkhead in the last 16 of the competition.

Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Moriah-Welsh shared his thoughts on a solid team performance and the positives to take from the Premier Sports Cup Group Stage.

He said: “It was really positive from the whole team, we know it could have been more if we were a bit more ruthless, but it was four goals and a clean sheet, job done.

“These games are much better than pre-season fixtures, it’s competitive fixtures from the start.

“Everyone knows that we should have got 12 points in the group but it shows the resilience we have to go and get a 4-0 win today and see us through to the next round.”

Hibs kick-start their league campaign away to St.Mirren on Sunday 4 August, a fixture the team are looking forward to.

“It’ll be a tough game, but it’s a game that we’re ready for.

“It’s going to be competitive as it has been for the last couple of weeks but we’re fully ready to go in and compete.”
