Police Scotland have confirmed this morning that a man, understood to be Colin Beattie MSP for Midlothian North and Musselburgh, has been arrested for questioning in the investigation into the party’s finances.
Police have spent the last year and a half looking into the party’s finances and where the sum of £600,000 raised for an independence referendum campaign have been spent.
This is the second arrest and follows the arrest two weeks ago of Peter Murrell the Chief Executive of the party and husband of the former First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.
