The car park at Harlaw Resrvoir (pictured by Nigel Duncan) is being enlarged which requires the removal of a significant number of existing trees.

The work will take two weeks during which time the main car park will be closed, but parking is still permitted on the access road and in the car park on Saturdays and Sundays.

Malleny Angling, who administer fishing permits at Harlaw reservoir, say they tried to get this work done after the end of the fishing season in October.

Robert Ross, company secretary of Malleny Angling, said it now seems that the work has to be done before November. He added: This is the situation and we have to work with it.”

The dates of closures in October are Monday 3 to Friday 7 and Monday 10 to Friday 14.

He said: “It may be that the tree felling work will not take two weeks and the car park will re-open earlier than anticipated.”
