SGB Championship: Berwick Bandits 54, Scunthorpe Scorpions 36

Aaron Summers top scored with 11 points as Berwick Bandits stung Scunthorpe Scorpions 54-36 in the Borders.

The home side led 30-18 after eight races and snuffed out the visitors with a 5-1 in Heat 11.

Reserves Dany Gappmaier and Theo Pijper both scored eight points in the welcome win.

Josh Auty top scored for Scunthorpe with 13 points and Jake Allen collected 12.

Comeback man Steve Worrall, who has been out since April with a leg break, secured two wins in five rides and finished with seven points.

Under-21 World Championship semi-final: Great Britain 50, Australia 33, Czech Republic 26, Germany 13 (at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium, Glasgow).

In-form Dan Bewley claimed a 15-point maximum as Great Britain comfortably booked a place in the final of the under-21 World Championship in Denmark next month.

The Cumbria-based former Glasgow Tigers and Edinburgh Monarchs teenager was electric from the gate and won all his five heats in the star-studded event.

Nathan Greaves, Glasgow’s new signing, also piled on the points collecting 13 with three wins in his five outings.

Ellis Perks claimed ten points with reserve Connor Mountain scoring six, the same as Zach Wajtknecht who was withdrawn from the meeting through injury.

Great Britain scored 50 points and their nearest challengers were Australia with 33 followed by the Czech Republic on 26 and Germany on 13.
