Cami Brown believes Glasgow’s team spirit will get their season back on track because it’s the best he’s ever seen at the club.
Tigers entertain Scunthorpe Scorpions featuring former Glasgow captain and 2016 KO Cup-winning hero Aaron Summers, now with Berwick Bandits, in the SGB Championship at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium on Friday (tapes-up 7.30pm).
It’s a huge meeting for Brown’s side, who are looking to get over their shock Knockout Cup exit at home to Edinburgh Monarchs on Sunday.,
Tigers also want to maintain their 100 per cent home league record.
Brown said: “It’s been a tough week for everyone at Glasgow, but this group don’t know when they’re beaten.
“I reckon this is the best team spirit of any team I’ve worked with down the years.
“I’ve spent time in the pits in various roles before becoming team manager and there’s a togetherness I haven’t seen. They’re all in helping each other out.
“We will come back from Sunday’s defeat and it’s important we do that on Friday.
“It won’t be easy. Scunthorpe have brought in (Aaron) Summers as a guest and they have entertainers like Jason Garrity and Josh Auty.
“We’ve been working every day on the track this week to get the circuit how our riders like it, and it will be a lot better than it was in the last match.
“People need to remember that it’s essentially a new track and with the long winter we had, our guys never really got the chance to work on it after it was laid, so we’ve been playing catch-up since.”
Glasgow expect to be at full strength for the tie despite Chris Harris and Paul Starke still feeling the effects of recent crashes.
Tigers then travel to Workington on Saturday in their final Championship Shield match, knowing that a draw or a win would see them maintain their place at the top of their group with the Comets only having one further match to race.
