Hearts 98 top the Scottish Walking Football League organised by Walking Football Scotland in partnership with North Lanarkshire Leisure and Health & Social Care North Lanarkshire with maximum points from the opening six games.

The second round of fixtures took place yesterday at the Ravescraig Sports Centre in Motherwell, and last year’s runners up beat Gala Fairydean Rovers 3-2, The Oriam 3-1 and Ayr United Parkhouse 3-0.

Current champions Hearts 56 lost their unbeaten record with a 1-0 defeat to Glasgow Sport East before beating Gala Fairydean Rovers 2-1 and NL Leisure 2-0.

The capital’s other team Oriam beat Ayr United Beresford 2-1, lost to Hearts 98 3-1 and drew 2-2 with Stenhousemuir.

12 teams from throughout Scotland take part in the event with each side playing three 18 minute games once a month.

The tournament now closes down for the summer and resumes on the last Wednesday in August.
