A four-month-old baby and two adults were taken to hospital as a precaution after a seven-car crash on the A1 which took place at the roundabout near Dunbar in East Lothian just after 8am this morning.

The southbound section of the road was closed following the crash which was thought to be due to low sun.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 8.16am today to attend a road traffic collision on the A1.

“We initially dispatched two ambulances and one manager to the scene. An additional ambulance was then requested.

“We have taken one baby to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children and two adults to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
