Glasgow Tigers have drafted in two guests for Wednesday’s (7.30pm) home clash with high-flying Ipswich Witches.

James Shanes, who scored five points in Poole Pirates in their 46-44 home defeat by Swindon Robins on Monday, and Scunthrope Scorpions rider Ryan Douglas fill in for crocked Tigers.

Captain Aaron Summers believes this match is critical for Tigers ahead of the end-of-season play-offs.

It could also help decide who finishes second in the regular season and may be a dress rehearsal for the play-off semi-finals.

Tigers are fourth with 63 points from 30 matches while Ipswich occupy second spot with 73 points from 34 outings.

In-form Summers, said: “We’re going to have to hit them hard from the word go as we need to lay a marker down against play-off teams.

“The pressure will be on, but we’ll have to go out there and perform like we know we can.”

Reigning World Champion Greg Hancock will be trackside to meet fans as he recovers from injury.

Finally, Edinburgh Monarchs Aussie-born rider Mitchell Davey scored two points riding for Swindon at Poole on Monday.

Berwick Bandits No 1 Nick Morris collected seven in the same meeting for victorious Robins.
