Richie Worrall claimed 14 points but ambitious Glasgow Tigers bid for the SGB Championship suffered another blow.

The Englishman accumulated the points over five races but none of his six other teammates managed to reach double-figures.

Scots, beaten at Redcar Bears on Thursday, slipped to a 53-39 defeat at Newcastle Diamonds.

Tigers started well, drawing the first two heats 3-3 but went 23-13 behind after the sixth race following three 4-2 and a 5-1 as Diamonds found their cutting edge.

They never looked back and Robert Lambert led the charge for the home side with 14 points with experienced Stuart Robson and ex-Edinburgh Monarchs star Steve Worrall, Richie’s twin brother, both collecting 11 points.
