Edinburgh Capitals face a basement double-header when they square-up to Dundee Stars this weekend.
They host the Tayside team on Saturday (6pm) before travelling to Tayside for the return on Sunday (6.30pm).
Capitals prop up the ten-strong Elite League with 15 points from 18 games but have two games in hand over second-bottom Dundee who have 17 points.
What’s more, Dundee – currently playing three imports short and minus a Great Britain under-20 player – are on duty at third-placed Sheffield Steelers on Wednesday while Capitals have a clear week to prepare.
Stars have lost their last three games and are not expected to spring a surprise at Ice Sheffield but Capitals are buoyed by their come-from-behind success at home to flagging Fife Flyers on Sunday.
They also fought hard at Braehead Clan on Saturday, losing 3-2 but battling back from an early shock in going 3-0 down inside the first six minutes.
