Police are appealing for information after a man’s body was discovered in the Bruntsfield area during the early hours of this morning.
At around 5:35am, the Scottish Ambulance Service raised the alarm with police after the male was found lying on Leamington Terrace near to its junction with Bruntsfield Place.
The death is being treated as unexplained at this time and officers are today appealing for the assistance of the public.
Detective Inspector Alan O’Brien of Edinburgh CID said: “Our inquiry is at an early stage and we are currently working to establish the man’s identity.
“However, I encourage anyone who may have noticed or spoken to this man and can provide potentially vital information on his movements to please contact police immediately.
“In particular, we understand that a couple had attempted to help the deceased male and I appeal to them to come forward as soon as possible.”
