Police are continuing to investigate the murder of Alexander Duncan whose body was discovered at his home address of 3/10 Primrose Street on Sunday 19th April 2015.
Mr Duncan, known locally as ‘Addy’, is known to have frequented Duke Street, the Marksman Bar and the Kirkgate at the foot of Leith Walk.
The investigation continues to piece together Mr Duncan’s movements from his last confirmed sighting (outside the Marksman Bar at 5pm on Thursday 16th) until the time when his body was found on Sunday 19th.
There have been potential sightings of Mr Duncan in the common stairwell at 3 Primrose Street on Friday 17th April and again on Saturday 18th, as well as in the Kirkgate on Saturday 18th after midday.
The motive for the attack on Mr Duncan remains unclear and a number of lines of inquiry are being pursued.
Detective Inspector Martin MacLean, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team who is leading the investigation said: “I would like to thank members of the local community for their help so far and for their patience as we carried out door to door inquiries and the initial forensic examination of the scene at Primrose Street.”
“However we would urge anyone who saw Mr Duncan, or who has information regarding his lifestyle, habits or movements to please get in touch.
“Similarly anyone who saw anything or anyone suspicious around 3 Primrose Street, Edinburgh between Thursday 16th and Sunday 19th April is asked to contact the Incident Room on 101 in the first instance, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on tel. 0800 555 111.”
