TER 2014_01_04 Thistle Street Fire - 13

Firefighters rescued four workmen from the roof of a property in Seaview Terrace this afternoon and led them to safety.

At 2.42pm several 999 calls were received informing emergency services of a building fire and as a result of the call, a number of fire appliances from Marionville, McDonald Road, Tollcross and Sighthill fire stations were mobilised to the address.

The first fire appliance arrived within minutes and crews were faced with a developing fire within in the roof and first floor of a mid terraced house.  The Incident Commander immediately requested additional resources, which resulted in a further fire appliances being mobilised to the scene from Newcraighall, Liberton and Dunfermline fire stations.

Firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus sets, fought the fire using main jets and a high pressure hosel reel with the hydraulic platform. 

No one has been hurt in this incident.
