Police in East Lothian are appealing for witnesses following a hit-and-run road traffic collision on the A1.
The accident occurred last night (Wednesday, December 3) at around 8.35pm when an unidentified car travelling towards Edinburgh between Wallyford and Tranent struck the rear of a silver Ford Mondeo.
This caused the car to spin and come to a stop on the embankment. Damage was caused to the car’s light and the elderly couple in the Mondeo were left badly shaken as a result.
As a result we are appealing for any witnesses who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.
PS Andrew Gibb said: “While the people in the car were thankfully left uninjured, this could have potentially been much more serious.
“We are appealing for any witnesses who saw this accident on A1 between 8.35pm and 8.45pm last night to come forward.
“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland immediately on 101. Alternately the police can be reached through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
