Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on Saturday evening which took place around 10.15PM in Silverknowes Road.
A 21-year-old male came off his white and red Yamaha motorcycle and suffered serious injuries.
The rider was wearing protective motorcycle clothing and a helmet at the time of the collision but despite treatment by Scottish Ambulance Service personnel he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Road Policing Officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.
Sergeant Ross Drummond of Edinburgh’s Divisional Road Policing Unit stated; I wish to appeal to any person who was at or near the location at the time and who may have information that could assist us with our enquiries to contact Police as soon as possible on 101.”
