Police have issued a renewed appeal for help from the public to trace a 63-year-old woman.

Janette Johnston was reported missing on Saturday, 17 August, from the Macmerry area of East Lothian after concerns were raised by her family, who have not heard from her since Wednesday, 31 July, 2024.

She is described as around 5ft 2ins, with blue eyes and brown hair.

Inspector Alan King said: “We are growing concerned for Janette’s welfare due to the lack of contact with family and friends are appealing for help to find her.

“We are not sure at this time what Janette is wearing, but know she likes to frequent the Musselburgh and Macmerry areas and often stays with friends there.

“We are asking anyone who may have seen her, or has information on where she might be, to please get in touch. If Janette herself sees this appeal, I would ask her to please make contact so we know she is safe and well.”

Anyone with any information can contact officers via 101, quoting reference 2260 of 17 August, 2024.
