Up to 20 firefighters tackled a blaze at 228 Portobello High Street next to the Sainsbury’s Local during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Emergency services including firefighters, paramedics and Police Scotland were called to the scene following reports that a mattress was on fire.
Four appliances were on site.
No one was injured and all residents were accounted for.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to reports of a mattress on fire at 12.45am on Sunday July 7.
“This spread to the rest of the building with the front door visibly alight.
“All persons were accounted for and no injuries were reported.
“Four appliances attended the incident and firefighters left at 2.50am.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.50am on Sunday, 7 July, 2024, we were called to a report of a fire on High Street, Portobello.
“Emergency services attended and the fire was put out by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“There are no reported injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
