Detectives investigation the report of a serious assault in Edinburgh city centre have made an arrest.
The incident took place shortly after midnight on Tuesday 2nd July at the number 30 bus stop on Princes Street between Charlotte Street and Castle Street.
Following the incident a 47-year-old man attended Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
Officers this morning confirmed that a 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow Monday 8th July 2024.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault which occurred on Princes Street, Edinburgh, on Tuesday, 2 July, 2024.
“He is due to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 8 July, 2024, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
