Edinburgh photographer, Tom Duffin, was out with his camera taking shots of noctilucent clouds on Friday night in East Lothian.

These night shining clouds, are “tenuous cloud-like phenomena in the upper atmosphere of Earth. They consist of ice crystals and are only visible during astronomical twilight.”

Noctilucent roughly translates as “night shining” from Latin. We are sure you will agree these are just beautiful images.
