Berwick Bandits will face a misfiring Birmingham Brummies side on Wednesday (7.30pm) in the Midlands boosted two new riders.

Bosses have have brought back fans’ favourite Adam Ellis back as part of an early season double switch.

He is joined by Nathan Stoneman who has earned a place at Reserve after a stunning start to the campaign in the National League.

Kyle Newman and Tobias Thomsen are the riders to make way for fresh blood.

Laurence Rogers, Brummies team manager and co-promoter, said: “After seven straight losses in all competitions we felt we had to do something.

“We thought we’d got the blend right in the team with a 1-7 that had strength in depth, but sadly it hasn’t worked out that way.”

Bandits come into their first Championship match of the season on a high after qualifying for the semi-finals of the Championship Shield.

And the success-hungry Borders club are in form having beaten Edinburgh Monarchs 54-36 at Berwick on Saturday.
