Birmingham Brummies boss David Mason has made a rallying call to his team and fans ahead of their SGB Championship clash with Edinburgh Monarchs in the Midlands on Wednesday (tapes-up 7.30pm).

Brummies come into the fixture on a downer having lost all seven of their matches in the Knockout Cup, Championship Shield and challenge matches on their return to professional racing.

Success-hungry Birmingham have already made two team changes, including the return or former Great Britain racer Adam Ellis.

Mason said Wednesday’s visit by the fired-up Scots is a fresh start but the Midlands club have their work cut out as Edinburgh edged one of the Championship favourites, Leicester Lions, 45-44 in a nail-biting clash at Armadale on Friday

Mason added: “Our step-up to the second tier hasn’t started how we would’ve liked.
“Losing meeting after meeting was no good for anybody. We’re confident our fortunes will change now.”
