Primary schools in the Edinburgh Pentlands constituency took part in the annual Christmas Card competition for Gordon Macdonald MSP. Last week, the winner, Cailyn Angus (P5 from Longstone Primary School) and the runners up attended a presentation event at Sainsbury’s Longstone, who sponsor the competition.
Cailyn received a £40 gift card and selection box, and the runners up (Genevieve Minns, P5 from Braidburn Special School; Emma Shu, P3a from Canal View Primary School; Kehinde Olanipekun, P5 from Canal View Primary School; Teddy Jones, P4/5 from Sighthill Primary School; Calum Rae, P2/3 from Dean Park Primary School) also received gift cards and a selection box each.
Cailyn’s design has been printed as the Christmas card for the Edinburgh Pentlands MSP, and sent to many organisations, local groups, colleagues and friends in the constituency – images of the runner up designs are printed on the back.
Gordon Macdonald, MSP said: “I would like to thank all the pupils and schools for participating.
“This year’s entries were great and showed lots of imagination and vibrancy in the designs – so much so that we decided we needed to award five runners up rather than the usual two. I am very proud to place these designs on my Christmas Card this year!”
