A man has been charged after around 11kg of heroin valued at more than £1million was recovered during an intelligence-led search of an address in Captains Drive yesterday.

Officers also found a large quantity of cutting agent and a conductive electricity device inside the property.

A further search of an address in Leving Place, Livingston was then carried out later that day where approximately £11,000 in cash was removed from the address.

The 28-year-old male is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.

Detective Inspector Dougie Telfer said: “Once again, the vital assistance of the public has resulted in another significant drugs recovery, this time ensuring that £1.1million worth of heroin was seized before it could be sold within our communities.

“Tackling  organised crime, which includes drug offences, remains one of Police Scotland’s top priorities and as Wednesday’s enforcement activity demonstrates, any intelligence we receive relating to crimes of this nature is swiftly and robustly acted upon.

“If you would like to report ongoing drug crime in your local area then please contact us on 101 or make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
