Man due in court after heroin valued at over £1m recovered in Edinburgh

A man has been charged after around 11kg of heroin valued at more than £1million was recovered during an intelligence-led search of an address in Captains Drive yesterday.

Officers also found a large quantity of cutting agent and a conductive electricity device inside the property.

A further search of an address in Leving Place, Livingston was then carried out later that day where approximately £11,000 in cash was removed from the address.

The 28-year-old male is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.

Detective Inspector Dougie Telfer said: “Once again, the vital assistance of the public has resulted in another significant drugs recovery, this time ensuring that £1.1million worth of heroin was seized before it could be sold within our communities.
