Three Hibs’ youngsters have been called up to the Scotland Under-21 squad for their UEFA Under-21 European Championship qualifying matches at home to Andorra and away to the Netherlands on Thursday 6 September and Tuesday 11 September.

Oli Shaw has been called into the squad for the first time, whilst regulars Ryan Porteous and Stevie Mallan (pictured) have also been selected.

Shaw has been in good form for Hibs, scoring two goals in two Ladbrokes Premiership already.

The 20-year-old has previously been capped seven times at under-19 level for Scotland, scoring against Sweden and Liechtenstein.

Centre-back Porteous has featured four times for the under-21s, with all his appearances coming in the Toulon Tournament earlier this summer. Like Shaw he previously had been capped at under-19 level and captained his country.

Mallan has been capped five times at under-21 level, with his last cap arriving in November 2017, and he has scored once in a 2-0 victory over the Netherlands.

The 22-year-old has also been in fine form  this campaign, scoring six goals – all from outside the box – in nine appearances for the team.
