Hibs’ Scottish Cup hero Anthony Stokes has signed for Iranian side Tractor Sazi who play in the Persian Gulf Pro League.
The Republic of Ireland international had been training under Alan Stubbs at St. Mirren having left Greek side Apollon Smyrni F.C. in April.
He will now join up with former Wales coach John Toshack,
The 29-year-old has signed a two-year contract with Tractor Sazi joining former Rangers player Harry Forrester.
He earned legendry status amongst the Hibs’ fans due to his man of the match performance in the club’s historic Scottish Cup win in 2016.
In total he played 94 times for the club over three spells, scoring 45 goals, including a brace in that final.
In January his contract was terminated following an undisclosed incident at the teams training camp and joined Apollon Smyrni F.C..
