Police are appealing for witnesses after a 12-year-old girl disturbed two housebreakers during a break-in at her home in Northfield Drive around 4.15pm yesterday afternoon.
The suspects made off from the area along Northfield Drive.
Anyone who can assist officers with their inquiries is asked to come forward.
The first suspect is described as being male, white and wearing blue jeans and sandy-coloured boots.
The second suspect is described as being male, white, early to mid-teens with a slim build, brown hair and wearing a black and white striped t-shirt.
Detective Inspector Grant Paterson from Edinburgh’s Housebreaking Investigation Unit said: “This would have been a frightening experience for the young girl to face as she entered the address and we are keen to hear from anyone who can help us identify those involved in this incident.
“Anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around Northfield Drive on Thursday afternoon, or who has any other information relevant to this investigation should contact police immediately.”
