Hearts 56 won the inaugural Scottish Walking Football League title after a dramatic final day at Ravenscraig on Wednesday.

After beating second placed Gala Fairydean Rovers, Hearts 56 lost to a strong Glasgow Sport before finally disposing of Tulibody to secure the trophy.

Hearts 98 leapfrogged the Borders outfit to finish runners up.

The trophy was presented by Scottish Football legend David Hay who joked that he couldn’t remember ever having congratulated a Hearts team.

Ten teams from throughout Scotland took part in the competition which was organised by North Lanarkshire Leisure.

The teams each played three 18 minute games once a month at the Ravenscraig Sports Centre.

The final round results were as follows.
