SGB Championship: Glasgow Tigers 44, Sheffield Tigers 49; Berwick Bandits 51, Newcastle Diamonds 39.

Berwick Bandits’ No 1 Nick Morris powered to 16 points as the home side beat near neighbours Newcastle Diamonds 51-39 on Saturday.

Gary Havelock, Berwick’s team manager, said: “This was the best and most complete performance from a Berwick side this season.”

Stewart Dickson has set his wounded Glasgow Tigers squad the target of second place in the SGB Championship.

Sheffield Tigers are odds-on to secure the title after Tigers let slip a 12-point lead at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium on Saturday.

The Scots lost 49-44 to a depleted Sheffield side and Dickson admitted he was going to have a talk-in with his squad.

Tigers team boss said: “It’s going to be sore – I’m not going to kid on it’s not.”
