Police are issuing a further appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision in the Davidson’s Mains area.

The incident happened around 9.15am on Sunday, May 14, at the junction of Quality Street and Main Street.

A 70-year-old woman was struck by a number 41 Lothian Bus.  She was sadly passed away at the scene.

Inquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing, however a report has now been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Officers are eager to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, particularly those who were on the number 41 bus.

Police Sergeant John Easton of Edinburgh Division’s Road Policing Unit said:  “Our thoughts are with the lady’s family and our officers are continuing to support them.

“It is important that we speak to everyone who was in the area at this time of the collision, especially those who were on the number 41.

“I would again ask anyone who may have witnessed this collision and has not yet spoken to officers to get in touch as soon as possible.”
