Police Scotland cops

A police investigation is underway after a  schoolgirl was approached by a man in a car on Ashley Drive, near Craiglockhart Primary, on Wednesday.

The man stopped and started speaking to the girl and it is understood he asked her to get into the vehicle but she refused and went home to tell her parents, who contacted police.

A police spokesman said: “We received a report of a girl who was approached by an adult in the Ashley Drive area of Edinburgh on Wednesday, November 23.

“The child was unharmed and told her parents what had happened when she returned home.

“We’re now working to establish the full circumstances in relation to this matter and ask anyone with relevant information to contact police on 101.”
