The Fire Service are launching an investigation following a fire which broke out in a shower room of a property on Comely Bank Road around 1.30am this morning.
Building control inspectors attended the scene and two adults and two children were checked over by paramedics.
None required hospital treatment.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire started in the shower room of a two-storey property, spreading into the roof space.
“Firefighters worked with one line of hose, one hose and four breathing apparatus.
“There was extensive fire damage to the roof space and water damage to the remainder of the property. Two adults and two children were checked over as a precautionary measure.”
