Police in Glenrothes are appealing for information to help trace a man reported missing who is  believed to now  be in the centre of Edinburgh.

Darren Aitchison was last seen in Jedburgh, Scottish Borders, on Tuesday 12 January.

The 30-year-old has not been in contact with friends or family and concern is now growing for his welfare.

Darren is described as white, around 6ft 2in tall, slim build with short dark hair.

It is believed he is wearing a yellow t-shirt, VOI jeans, blue suede Adidas trainers and a black bomber style jacket.

Darren has connections in Jedburgh, Glenrothes and Bathgate and tends to travel by bus.

Inspector Joanne McEwan, of Glenrothes Police Station, said: “I’m appealing for Darren to get in touch with police so that we can establish if he’s safe and well.

“Similarly, anyone who has seen or spoken to him since Tuesday is asked to contact us.”

Those with any information can contact Police Scotland on 101.
