Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted murder on which took place around 10.30pm on Friday near to a bus stop on Ferry Road at Goldenacre playing fields.

A 52-year-old man was left with a number of injuries and was conveyed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he is in a stable condition.

A 57-year-old man has now been charged with attempted murder and he will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday (23rd November 2015).

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident, particularly passengers on the Lothian Buses number 21 bus which was travelling west along Ferry Road around 10.30 pm.

Detective Inspector Alan O’Brien said: “A man received serious injuries in this incident and he remains in a serious condition in hospital.

“Although we have arrested someone, I am still keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident and who can help us piece together the events leading up to it.”
