police scotland 3A 29 year-old man was assaulted and robbed on Great Junction Street last Sunday morning and Edinburgh police are now keen to speak to someone who helped him out at the scene.
The incident happened around 1.30 am Sunday morning – 8th November – when the man believes he was knocked unconscious.

CCTV inquiries have established that the ‘good Samaritan’ came to his aid shortly after the assault and then chased the suspect before he went out of sight.

Officers believe he has witnessed the incident and would like to appeal to him to come forward

‘The Good Samaritan’ is described as male, white, aged 20-30 years old, short dark hair, wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable John Dunn said: “I would like to ask this person to get in touch as I believe he may have information that can assist the investigation and help us trace the person responsible.”
