Police  have issued a new photograph and an updated description of a 64-year-old man reported missing last Thursday.

James Barr was last seen near Haymarket Station at around 8pm on Thursday.

James is described as white, 5ft 5inches tall, with a slim build. He has short grey hair and a grey moustache.

He was last seen wearing a large, black padded knee length jacket with a fur-lined hood. The jacket had a waterproof appearance.

He was also wearing green/brown cord trousers, a dark green or black woolen hat and black shoes. He wears a checked shirt and a thermal vest underneath. He also has fingerless gloves. He was carrying a Tesco carrier bag.

James has been known to frequent the Dalry Road and Colinton Mains Drive areas.

Officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their inquiries to come forward.

Inspector Simon Acheson of Gayfield said: “We’re growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of James, who has numerous health concerns and may appear disorientated.

“We’re urging anyone who thinks they may have seen James since Thursday evening, or who can help us establish his whereabouts, to get in touch.”
