Three teenage males have been subjected to an assault and robbery which happened between 3:50am and 4:10am on Saturday morning.

The victims had initially gone to help their attacker who had been lying on steps adjacent to Fountain Park. The male took exception to this and chased the teenagers along Dundee Street and onto Henderson Terrace before stopping them and demanding that they hand over their money.

All three complied and the male then left heading along Dalry Road in the direction of Haymarket.

Police are now appealing to anyone who saw him in the area or the incident itself to come forward.

The suspect is described as white, around 20-25 years old, approximately 6ft tall with a stocky build and has a half sleeve tattoo on his arm. He has very short blonde hair, a Scottish accent and had been wearing a tight black t-shirt.

Detective Constable Martin Smith of Police Scotland said: “The three teenagers had only tried to help this man who in turn assaulted and robbed them.

“The incident has left them all very shocked and we are keen to trace the suspect.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch with police on 101 or, alternatively the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
