Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault and robbery which happened around 2pm on Saturday 1st August near the Dominos on Leith Walk.

A 33-year-old man was checking his phone when he was pushed against a wall, striking his head. During this time his phone was stolen.

The victim was not seriously injured and reported the matter to police who are now asking anyone who can assist with their inquiries to come forward.

Detective Constable Andrew Cory said: “Unfortunately, the victim did not see this suspect during this incident and so we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Leith Walk area n Saturday afternoon and who remembers seeing anything suspicious around the Dominos pizza takeaway.

“Similarly, anyone who has information that can help us identify whoever was responsible is also asked to contact police immediately.”
