Yvaine

The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a young cat was abandoned on a doorstep in Edinburgh.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity was alerted after the feline was dumped outside a house on Redhall Drive on Friday night (3 July).

The six month old cat is now in the care of the charity’s Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Hamilton, where she has been named
Yvaine.

Inspector June Chalcroft said, “Someone left Yvaine in a cardboard box and rang the doorbell before fleeing the scene at around 11pm on Friday
night.

“The person who found Yvaine doesn’t know why she was left on their doorstep or who she might belong to.

“Yvaine is a semi-long haired cat and is in good condition. She’s a lovely, friendly girl and we’ll look after her until we can find her a
new home.”

Anyone with information is being urged to contact the Scottish SPCA Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
