Police are growing increasingly concerned for a teenage boy who has been missing in Edinburgh for over a week.
Thirteen-year-old Jye Slater left the Howden Hall Road area at around 5pm on Saturday 13 December 2014 – he has since been seen in the Muirhouse and Drylaw areas but has not been traced and officers are anxious to know he is safe and well.
Jye is described as white, 5 foot 10 inches tall, of slim build with short light brown hair. He has been seen wearing both a grey tracksuit and a dark blue Nike tracksuit, and a red white and blue hat.
PC John Mackay said: “It is unusual for Jye to go missing for such a long period of time, and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen him or knows his whereabouts, or indeed Jye himself. Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101.”
John graduated from Telford College in 2010 with an HNC in Practical Journalism and since then he worked for the North Edinburgh News, The Southern Reporter, the Irish News Review and The Edinburgh Reporter. In addition he has been published in the Edinburgh Evening News and the Hibernian FC Programme.
